In reply to: Can a blog post have too much header information? Thanks. I didn’t think URL length would be a problem.
It is just confusing.

In reply to: Can a blog post have too much header information?Let me know if this the wrong forum to ask this question. I can ask elsewhere. Thanks.
Otto42,
Not saying you’re wrong — I am saying I am confused 😉
Otto42,
Thanks for the reply. But I have an inclination to at least question you on the answer to the first question.
Take a look at this:
“1304 spams caught, 367 legitimate comments, and an overall accuracy rate of 99.704%.”
That is on the Akismet page on my ww.wp.xz.cn blog. Obviously like I said above Akismet has protected my ww.wp.xz.cn site only 19 times. The other ~1285 or so were from my wordpress.com blog.
So in some way the statistics are intermingling, right?
Figured it out!
Apache vhost settings wasn’t allowing access to .htm files by the browser/web server, so it didn’t matter what I set the permissions to. I had to change that.

In reply to: WordPress 2.7 Visual Editor has Vanished on some Postseaglenick — I have tried my own thread. No response. I thought I would try to put the issue in something semi-related. It is really bugging me.
Here is the thread I started:
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress 2.7 Editor not workingI have a specific problem with the visual editor:
I cannot create a link using the built in editor, no matter what permissions I give to anything, even 777 to all WP directories and files. When I press the link button in the built-in editor (the Visual part of the editor, not the HTML part of the editor), I get this error in a window that pops up in the middle of the browser:
FORBIDDEN – You don’t have permission to access /wp-includes/js/tinymce/themes/advanced/link.htm on this server.
Any thoughts? I am using Safari 3.x, but this happens with Firefox as well.
Thanks.

bumping one time before trying again with a different subject.
One bump, that’s it. Then I will try under separate cover or somewhere else.

In reply to: Moving from WordPress.com to ww.wp.xz.cn AND search engine results?Lorelle,
Thanks for the reply. I am not so much concerned about my ranking, per se. I don’t make any money off of my blog, nor do I have any plans to. But I just found it weird that my page rank dropped of even though I have the same exact blog with the exact same domain name. The only thing that changed was that I moved from WordPress.com to ww.wp.xz.cn self hosted.
I like to get to the bottom of things 🙂
