So if you can’t filter out shortcodes from the email message…
…can we just turn off or not include the post content/excerpt?
Basically just leaving a link to the post.…or can we use a custom excerpt?

We are using some shortcodes on our post and the subscriber receives the shortcode copy which is not legible via email. We have Settings > Reading > feed settings set to “Summary”.We have a custom excerpt written but the email doesn’t seem to be using that? Can you help?

This is a major problem for us as we allow public comments so there is no actual author or associated avatar. So the default email (that we have no control over) has an Avatar from an unknown user and link back to an unknown author. We would also like to “brand” email and remove the author link and Avatar image reference.Can you suggest a workaround?
Click Titles and Metas under SEO
On the General tab > Title settings
[check] Force rewrite titlesThen this will use the Titles template you have assigned which you can access under the Post Type tab.
Just use %%sitename%% and that will use your page/post title only.
