I have “link to attachment page” selected, however the attachment page doesn’t open the document. It’s a page with my website theme, but just the document link – not a view of the open document. Strangely enough (maybe not), when I go to my media files and select “uploaded to this page”, there are no attached files, even if I have a DG appearing on the page. So, is it possible to have a DG appear on a page with thumbnails and file description BUT the docs aren’t actually attached to the page?

When I create the DG on a page, I highlight the DG shortcode (not sure if that’s necessary), select “add media”, access my media library, select the docs I want for the page, then select “create document gallery”, then “insert gallery”. Then back to the page, hit “update”, then “preview changes”. The page shows the DG correctly. (?) Is there a step I’m missing to actually attach the files?
