I was getting the same error after 6.5.1 update.
Applying this patch the error is gone.

Rolling back CF7 to v5.5.2 fixed it for me right now.

This morning I have updated WP (to v5.8.2), CF7 (to v5.5.3) and other plugins and I am experiencing the same problem. Help please.
