In reply to: [Performance Lab] Need to Remove Meta Description GeneratorHi again, yes multiple meta description tags and yes, duplicate. Any ideas on how to remove these auto-generators?

In reply to: [Performance Lab] Need to Remove Meta Description GeneratorI’m getting double meta tags because Yoast also generates them automatically.

In reply to: [Performance Lab] Need to Remove Meta Description GeneratorWe put the code in the function.php file – and no change. We’d be open to testing a mini plugin. 🙂 Thank you.

In reply to: [Performance Lab] Need to Remove Meta Description GeneratorThanks so much for your reply! Actually, we saw that same code in this other thread and had tried that as well but it didn’t work.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Hi there, managed to figure it out. It was an issue with our site not recognising images from a different domain.
Thank you anyway!
Hi there, thanks so much for your quick reply.
So, I followed your steps and selected AVIF in the settings and started the bulk optimisation. However that pushed the CPU to almost 100% and my site crashed. Do you have any recommendations around this?
Thanks in advance!
If it’s any easier, would be great to hop on a call. You can contact our support team here and we’ll respond ASAP:
https://support.soho.com.au/hc/en-us/requests/newHi Anton,
Images that were properly updated by the plugin have the following meta fields eg: https://soho.com.au/articles/repairs-and-maintenance
- post-id (most likely added by the FIFU plugin)
- fifu-featured (added by the FIFU plugin)
- data-pagespeed-url-hash
- onload
For images that weren’t properly updated, post-id and fifu-featured are missing and they have some meta fields that the updated images don’t seem to have eg: https://soho.com.au/articles/pet-rental-laws-qld
- srcset
- sizes
Just to reiterate, for the article that did work, it was a manual offload we did, where we manually also updated the URLs of each image.
Additionally, you might want to know that we have not tried the bulk offload feature yet.
Thank you so much. Really appreciate your help with this!
Hi again Anton,
Yes, we tried clearing the cache on those pages.
We realise now that the plug in isn’t actually working. The images that were uploaded properly to CF and that updated the article images were because we were updating each image URL manually. We were doing this before we downloaded your plug in.
The plug in seems to simply not be working one one end. Images are offloading to CF but not updating the image URL on the article. We tried disconnecting and creating a new token but that didn’t work either.
Is there any other information we can provide that could assist you with the troubleshooting?
Thanks so much!
I am certain these images are appearing in CF. For this article, for example, here are the CF image URLs:
https://imagedelivery.net/nhBEgGqoF0rKYkwqqo1xtA/0d710ba4-0479-46d7-8ec9-af5e3f128800/public
https://imagedelivery.net/nhBEgGqoF0rKYkwqqo1xtA/e90a8de0-2066-4969-0278-f916e1d6bc00/public
https://imagedelivery.net/nhBEgGqoF0rKYkwqqo1xtA/36d03597-e17b-4d58-46dd-adfb41a00c00/public
However, something else we noticed is that the FIFU plugin (that we downloaded around the same time the articles started offloading and updating properly) is what added the fifu-featured tag to the images that were properly offloaded and the post-id tag is also most likely coming from the same plugin.
Would really appreciate your help with this. Thanks so much!
Hi again,
These are the pages that were successful in updating the URL:
https://soho.com.au/articles/cost-of-renovating-house
https://soho.com.au/articles/cost-of-stairs
These are the pages which didn’t work:
https://soho.com.au/articles/what-is-nras
https://soho.com.au/articles/rental-property-painting-depreciation-rate-ato
Thanks so much!
Hi Anton, thanks so much for your reply. I enabled the parse option and still had issues. It looks like all our posts/images published prior to mid-October are not working with the plug in. The images appear in CF but the URL still doesn’t update properly.
We are trying to trace any changes we could’ve made around that date.
Is it possible that the plug in would conflict with other plug ins eg: WP Optimize, Converter For Media?
