    @adamsilverstein – thank you for the reply and clarification! I am having the same behavior as @senator94 – I have both Imagick and GD showing AVIF support, and I get AVIF output for other uploads (e.g. JPEG), but for AVIF upload I get JPEG alternate sizes.

    I’m not sure about @senator94, but my use case is not so urgent, and I’m interested in making it work eventually. When I have time I’ll try to do some of my own learning and see if I can dig up any reasons for this behavior. In the meantime, if any of the development team find something or resolve it in an update, much obliged. 🙏

    Am I the only one getting this behavior? Or is it not part of the plugin’s functions to generate on uploaded AVIF files?

    Or is this related to the ‘won’t generate on a smaller file size’ feature of the plugin? My AVIFs are 2000 × 1336px and around 500-600 KB per file.
