In reply to: [ActivityPub] How can I limit the content length when federating to Mastodon?Well, that would seem to explain it! 😁 My preference, though, would be to always use the Excerpt, if available, even with shorter posts. That would allow me to better summarize even short posts, if I wish.
But at least I know how it works!
Thanks a ton for the help!

In reply to: [ActivityPub] How can I limit the content length when federating to Mastodon? The first post published after installing the plugin was https://baty.blog/2025/11/wordpress-and-activitypub/. The excerpt was added before publishing, but the full text of the post was sent to Mastodon. Is that helpful?

In reply to: [ActivityPub] How can I limit the content length when federating to Mastodon?I did not see the Post Content section. In advanced settings, the “Use Template Tags…” option was already disabled.
As a test, I enabled the “Use Template Tags…” option and adjusted the Post Content field to use ap_excerpt rather than ap_content and that then DID send the excerpt correctly to Mastodon.
Then, I disabled “Use Template Tags…”, and once again, full posts were being sent to Mastodon, ignoring both Excerpt content and More blocks.
So right now, enabling Post Content and changing the template tags works, but letting the plugin choose the format does not. I hope I’m explaining this correctly!

In reply to: [ActivityPub] How can I limit the content length when federating to Mastodon? Thanks for the quick reply! However, and it may have been unclear in my original post, but neither of those first two options has worked for me. I’ve tried both adding an Excerpt and using the More block. In both cases the first 500 characters were sent to Mastodon. I feel like I’m missing something :).
