Thanks so much, threadi. I went to that link and they suggested using the rollback plugin. I was unaware of this, but got it, used it, and voila! the error message at the top of my landing page disappeared!
I’m always shocked when solutions are easy–shocked, but not complaining, mind you.
    Thanks, have a good day.

found this on another site, and tried it–didn’t work until i actually updated the Weaver Theme. Then it showed up properly in visual editor. That’s all I know at this point, It SEEMS to be working. Maybe pass this along to others:

I was able to fix the problem by using the following recommendations mentioned above:

    1. Install “use Google Libraries” plugin.
    2. Activate “Twenty Eleven” Theme.
    3. Clear browser cache.
    4. try the tabs, and everything worked.
    5. Switch back to my usual theme, everything still worked!

    I hope this helps.

not happy with the results because nothing happened. It’s still the same. Switching back and forth between visual and text didn’t change a thing. Am I the only one having this problem?

Hi Josh. You’re welcome. (and thanks). I’ll have a look at the article. The issue is that there is no icon on the image in a post while in the visual editor, so i can’t click on it to format the image–left right, or sizing–and also, the layout in the editor (visually) is without those things, even when the post looks right live on the website. so it’s hard to know what the post will look like. And i’ve noticed previous posts, when i open them in editor, also have the images askew like they haven’t been formatted. Seems no way to format the images to wrap text. I have no idea what could be causing this except something to do with the visual editor being bonkers in some way…

    Josh–
First, let me say thank you for all the work you’re doing and have been doing for a long time. I appreciate you sharing your story in such a straightforward and heartfelt way. I can certainly understand what you must have been feeling about all of this. As an author, sometimes i will write a book that takes a lot out of me, but because of the fickle market and the inherent pitfalls of being and Indie Publisher and Author, a book will sometimes fall through the cracks without finding its readers. (Thankfully, i have enjoyed a recent bestseller, but am still frustrated about my books that seem to flounder in the market). I say this to let you know i understand what it’s like to pour yourself into a creation and then have it be jerked out from under you; makes you wonder why you worked so hard to put yourself and your work out there. So hats off to you, my friend. You are appreciated and understood, at least by me.

Now then, i think i have a grasp on what has been happening with TinyMCE and WP Editor. (and each time i update WP, there are a slew of issues that i have to spend way too much time on–which makes me want to avoid updating ever again!) But my original questions remain–I’m not quite sure how to address the issues I’ve been having as i posted before (when you directed me here). Below is the original post where I am trying to figure out how to get my visual editor working again. Should i reactivate the WP Edit plugin again? I deactivated it because i thought it might be causing the visual editor WYSIWYG functionality issue. How do i get that icon to edit images back? How do i get the layout to show correctly in the visual editor? Any ideas?

    PREVIOUS POST:
I’m using Weaver II and Firefox (newest).
I updated WP, and got the notice to change to WP Edit and remove TinyMCE. I did, and now i have nothing but problems. My WYSIWYG feature in the visual editor no longer works–images are not text-wrapped, there’s no icon anymore to edit the images. Previous posts now show up that way, too in the editor, so I can’t see them as they are in the actual posts. They seem to be presenting properly on the site, but in the editor, they are all screwed up with text wrapping. And since i can no longer edit the images i insert, i can’t place padding around them or place them left or right or center, because there is no longer an edit icon on the image while in the visual editor. IS there a solution to this? I deleted the WP Edit plugin and the TinyMCE plugin as well.

Thank you Josh, for your hard work. I appreciate it and appreciate any help anyone here can give so I can get back to work instead of fighting these fires of functionality. 🙂
    Thanks.

anyone going to respond to this? Is this plugin author unreachable? Anyone know? If he is, can someone tell me where i can find another plugin like this that has support from the author if it?

…and thanks, Ashfame. I just used yours first and it didn’t work, so used Michael’s after that. I’ll use whatever ultimately works. Thanks for your post!

Thanks Michael. I COULD diddle around with the code, but then, if it’s in the weaver code, it SHOULD be working. I shouldn’t have to noodle around with it…so, I will try to seek help in the Weaver forums. If it works to use your plugin, i certainly will. I appreciate your time.

    Thanks, Michael, for your prompt response and the info. I removed/deleted the other plugin, and also removed the tics in Weaver admin for featured images and such, and debugged and tried posting on one of my other facebook pages. still have the same issue. Disabled your plugin as well and refreshed all and tried posting to another FB page of mine and it made no difference. And yes, there were og tags in the source after each thing. BUt i don’t know what to do about that if it’s hard-coded in Weaver–you’re not supposed to mess with the files, that’s why Weaver has an admin dashboard to do all kinds of things–to avoid that….anyway, not sure what to do from here. Before i merged my author site with my blog, it worked fine. When i posted a particular blog post link, it used the first image in the post. When i posted a link to the home page, it used the home page header. Now it just uses the home page header on every link shared. {SIGH}

i still have the other in my plugins directory but it’s disabled. It’s “Facebook Like Thumbnail” by Ashfame

hi Michael. Thanks for the quick response. The site is http://kellijaebaeli.com
Yes, i did load another plugin before yours that didn’t work which is why i went looking for another. Maybe i didn’t disable that one properly. I’ll see if i can figure that out.

In reply to: [Random Text] Bulk edits?

I’m using the random text plugin and love it for the most part, but there’s a big problem with editing bulk-inserted text. Sometimes I like to collect a bunch of quotes and then insert them all at once. Problem is, sometimes they might have some extra returns here and there….when i use the bulk insert and make any kind of mistake with the return at the end of a line to signify the next, i end up with partial quotes elsewhere, and then it seems impossible to just edit that original inserted text. I have to go to the list, select delete and then it takes me back to the beginning where i again have to choose that collection, scroll to the area where another orphan line is, delete it and do it again. It’s VERY tedious. I really don’t have time to delete every line that landed in the wrong place of a bulk-insert of text. Is there an easier way to edit this text without having to delete them one at a time?

that link is plugin that adds fuction to have tags and categories on your pages. that might help. No problems with it so far–just install and the selections are there on your edit page area.

addendum–when i tried to convert categories to tags, it showed 1300 of those–how did my tags become categories? weirdness…
