Hi mplusb, thanks so very much for your suggestion but I tried adjusting the opacity to 40%, even 10% and the only thing that happens is that the solid color turns lighter but there is no opacity showing through.

If I put the opacity down to 0%, the solid color turns completely white and if I put it at 100%, the solid color turns a very dark charcoal. I’ve added a 3rd image in the test gallery that shows the caption opacity down to 10% and as you’ll see, when you hover over the image, it turns a solid light gray – I still don’t know why this isn’t working for me…https://www.columbaphotography.com/test-gallery/
