Overall this is a good alternative of Yoast, i am having the same problem I have checked the Remove Category box, but still its showing category word in URL. Other problem is when i create new category i always need to update Permalinks otherwise it will show 404 error for category page. My website is https://bestsyrianhamstercage.com/ . Please have a look into this.
Its active now and working fine.
Suggestion: As i can see its only links upto 3 keywords / or focus keyword in YOST, including linking to itself. Add an option to user to choose how many keywords he want to link or leave this option open i.e link all focus keywords.
