Thanks for explaining the issue in detailed. I’ll take a look on the issue and update the plugin accordingly.
The edit box will now be only visible to an ‘admin’ or an ‘editor’, by default. If the user is logged in as an ‘author’ or a ‘contributor’, an admin should enable it from the plugin settings page.

In reply to: [Header and Footer Scripts] What PHP version does 2.3.1 require?Although it is highly recommended to use a supported version of PHP, the plugin requires PHP v5.6 or later itself.
The plugin has been updated so that anyone using a buggy version shall be able to update the plugin directly from their WordPress dashboard.
