Same problem here, but it works on desktop version so the issue seems to come from Facebook. In desktop, urls are redirected from http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX to https://www.facebook.com/events/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ but not on the mobile website …
