In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Delete originals?Hi @nosilver4u .
Phoenix just updated their plugin and added 3rd party support.

/** * Your function * * @param [string] $old_filename * @param [string] $old_filename */ function my_callback( $old_filename, $old_filename ) { // your code } add_action( 'pmr_renaming_successful', 'my_callback', 10, 2 );Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Delete originals?Well I’m okay with waiting for the next release. I just did a post to my blog and forget to update imagefile names. Once again used phoenix media rename plugin to rename and retitle files. I can confirm that EWWW did optimize those original images at that moment I blogged that post. After that I went and renamed images and EWWW optimized those renamed files too. Result was that I had 7 optimized files and after rename I had 14 optimized files. I just need to remember to rename before I’m uploading images..or.. is there possibility to add feature where EWWW would recognize if images are already optimized and just let other plugins to rename images if needed. Not sure if you understand my point but… π

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Delete originals?@nosilver4u one question though.
You said that Imsanity 2.7.1 is able to remove the metadata. Is Imsanity additional plugin that could be used with EWWW image optimizer or are they both doing same things?
I mean Imsanity will resize uploaded images but isn’t that same thing that optimizer is doing?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Delete originals?Thanks! Maybe I can just live with it π

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Delete originals?Funny that you mention database update because that is probably my main issue now. π
Not sure if I did the right decision but I used couple of hours and deleted all the original images from WP content-folder. Then I noticed that if one image in WP media library was reporting for example 14 different versions of that image then it means that there is duplicates in it.
I’m not sure how and why this had happened but for example in that 14 version folder there was 7 files named as original image file (IMG_20201107_blaa_blaa) and rest 7 files named how they were named in wordpress medialibrary (image_of_something). So it seems that all images did have original file name and they were optimized but at the same time as I had renamed my images differently optimizer optimized them too and created duplicates.
So my 1,6GB reservation is now 800MB because I removed all original images and those duplicates. That’s great!
One thing that I’m wondering is WP media library. What is the purpose on showing original filename in medialibrary even thought it does not exist anymore? is this what you mean by updating database references?
Here’s example of it showing as file called IMG_202011005_131412. I have renamed it as n__________scaled.jpg. It still shows that there is 14 files but there is only 7 left. Those 7 are named as n___________scaled.jpg and they are different sizes. I removed all IMG_202011005_131412.jpg files (7 of them).
Original file says that file is there. If I’m clicking it opens 404 because I deleted original file.
Those 14 files still shows in media library even though those 7 duplicates are deleted.
jr_developer, any passion for sharing information? How did you do it, or how to get even started?
