the wp-config.php is already pointing at the new database as I created a new wordpress installation on the 1&1 site.
1&1 – New WP install & DB at URL: S1209XX.websitehome.1and1.co.uk/example
HostPapa – Old Site & Old DB are at URL: http://www.example.co.uk
So there both set up and sites look the same but on different WP & DBs, I have then pointed DNS to the new site at 1&1 but the site is at that funny address s446xxx.websitehome.1and1.co.uk and need it to be at example.co.uk
like it use to be. I am surely only going to change the WP address and site address as I set up new DB before??
Hope that explains it more clearly, I think I am right in what I’m thinking just wanted to be sure?
Thanks esmi, I have read that a few times and missed the bit about URLs not changing.
So as I understand it as I created a new database and site then copied over posts and uploads the wp.config file will be ok and not need changing?
