  • Hey, Paul, I’m getting the same error message. Unfortunately, hitting the back button does nothing. This is a portfolio site for my work and I’m in the middle of a job search. It is crucial I get this back online ASAP. Is there anything you can tell me about how to fix this? And then once we’re done with that, what causes it (so I can avoid it happening again)?

UPDATED: I was able to update the PHP through my host. Problem solved…

Just to be sure I started over again. This time everything seems to work – except that it doesn’t load any of the original content. It’s only the standard WP placeholder. So we’re making progress, but I just can’t seem to figure out why it won’t load all the data that was in the original blog.

Can anyone shed some light on what I’m doing wrong or leaving out or whatever?

Assuming that ‘DB-HOST’ is the same as ‘HOSTNAME’, then yes.

Well, now I’m really confused. I started over and deleted all files. I uploaded WordPress, and then I uploaded all the backup database files. I read through the article you linked to about moving WP and as a result of that I changed the wp-config.php file to reflect the new DB Name, etc.

Now when I try to access the site, it re-directs to this:

    http://www.accessantarctica.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi

The error message on the page says: “Too many redirects occurred trying to open http://www.accessantarctica.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi. This might occur if open a page that is which is redirected to open another page which is then redirected to open the original page.”

But the thing is, I don’t know where the /cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi came from. I do know that when my site was hosted at the original hosting company, it was suspended because my account ran out (at my doing). So there is probably a page in there somewhere that is doing this, but I don’t know how to find it, or how it showed up this time but not last time I uploaded it.

I have no idea how this happened by simply restarting the process. Any information would be helpful…

So to be sure that I put everything in there, I deleted all files and started over from zero. I’m in the process of re-installing WP in the /accessantarctica folder, and then I’ll upload all the back-up files. I’ll update when it’s done with the results…

Well, yes and no. Per the instructions of NetFirms, I installed WP into the public_html folder. They then pointed this blog to live in a folder called /wp, even though there was already a folder created called accessantarctica. When I spoke with someone else in the support department they said if I wanted to point it to that folder I could do so and then delete the /wp folder. WP does live in my home folder a few times (for other domains).

Perhaps I should uninstall WP from the accessantarctica domain and reinstall it?
