Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Problems with service providerHi guys, thanks for your help there.
OK this is the situation so far:
1. We now have the original Big Wood School domain name going to a brand new website.
2. I have the FTP data on an external hard drive but in it all I can find is the images, PDF’s and other bits of stuff, no text or html published via WordPress.
3. I have been advised that I should be able to access my WordPress account via the new / old domain name http://www.bigwood.nottingham.sch.uk/wp-admin
but I have tried that and it doesn’t work 🙁
4. The old service provider have not given us the information for the website, I mean the FTP etc. They have given us the internal website data but not the information that lived on their server, ie the text.
The text which is information about lessons, uniform etc. is the main part of the website and the part that took me the most amount of time, (about 18 months!!!) to write.
Is the WordPress account that we originally had ‘dead’ or can it be accessed anywhere on the web? If we can access the text files then all we have to do is transfer them over onto the new server and start afresh with the new website.
Again I *really* appreciate any help on this front.
Many, many thanks,
Jason

In reply to: [iframe] Errors with IframeFirstly, thankyou for your reply.
The http://www.bigwood.nottingham.sch.uk/news-test
The iframes do work there is no problem with that, I just wondered about the ‘Error on page’ message at the bottom left of the screen.
I just wondered if my coding was wrong.
Thankyou.

In reply to: Iframes and cost for plug insI’ve found a bit of code that allows me just to do that, I think my copy of Dreamweaver’s playing up as the code didn’t work on it yet when it was online it worked out fine. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Iframes and cost for plug insYes!
Crikey, it’s something just so simple, that’s excellent news.
Actually, do you happen to know if there’s a way modify the scroll bar on the iframes?
I will have a look and do some research today but if you have any ideas that’d be great.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Iframes and cost for plug insHi.
We worked it out, dead simple, we set up another colleague as an Adminstrator and he then set us up as Administrators!
However, a slight problem…
in normal HTML I want this:
<iframe src="screens.html" style="border:0px #FFFFFF none;" name="screen" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" marginheight="0px" marginwidth="0px" height="245px" width="330px"></iframe> <iframe src="menu2.html" style="border:0px #FFFFFF none;" name="menu" scrolling="yes" frameborder="0" marginheight="0px" marginwidth="0px" height="245px" width="330px"></iframe>in WordPress I have this:
[iframe src="http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/" width="320" height="245"] [iframe src="http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/" width="330" height="245"][Please post code or markup snippets between backticks or use the code button. Your posted code may now have been permanently damaged by the forum’s parser.]
is there a way of making the Iframes side by side?

In reply to: Iframes and cost for plug insUnfortunately that’s an impossibility, I won’t go into too much detail but we can not contact him.
Is there no way Word Press itself can do this?
I can get an official email from our Principal if they need it.

That’s what I get, how do I go about changing from Admin to Administrator as it is only me and a colleague that work on the website?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Iframes and cost for plug insHa, just seen it where I have ADMIN rights, not ADMINISTRATOR.
How can I change that?
The guy that has Administrator has now left school and it is impossible to contact him, where do I go from here?
Thanks

This is what I see when I log on:

In reply to: Can't seem to see Plugin optionsI’m not 100% sure about that I didn’t set up the account, it was already in place before I took on this role.
Is there a way of finding out as all I want is to set up a simple survey. Is there an alternative method that doesn’t require a Plugin?

In reply to: Can't seem to see Plugin optionsI should have full admin access, I am using 3.4.2
If I send a screen print would that help? And if so, how can I do that on this forum?

In reply to: Struggling to locate hidden foldersYeah thanks for that, that makes sense, but the template can’t be modifed by me, do I need to become a Super Admin to modify it?
How can that be done?
If I can modify it I could change the URL that the image directs to.

In reply to: Add me as a new User / Modify frontpageThanks, but I’m afraid that’s a bit beyond me, is there anyway the WP can make my colleague have full admin rights?
I think that’s the main issue we need to get to, I think once we’ve got that then we can modify the web front page from that.
