In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Backbone CollisionHowdy,
Since the Notifications feature is primarily a publisher-facing feature (unless someone is showing the toolbar to logged-out users via the ‘show_admin_bar’ filter), My rationale was: any conflicts will simply cause the Notifications feature to not work (as opposed to breaking the other plugin’s functionality).Since Backbone.js is included with WordPress core as of 3.5, I’m thinking most plugin devs will have to test against the included version and this won’t be an issue.
Please let me know if you have any further concerns or notice any issues.
Again, thanks for your note.Best,
~JeffForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Backbone CollisionHi, Collin:
The potential library conflicts should be averted as of http://plugins.trac.ww.wp.xz.cn/changeset/627800
This will be included in next Jetpack release.
Thanks again for your report.
~JeffHi, all:
I’m circling back here to see if any of you had tried 2.0 and are still seeing this issue. If so, please try clearing your cache and cookies & let me know if that helps.
Edit: Just the cookies on *.wordpress.com, *.wp.com, & your domain should suffice.
mhmcintyre: That’s quite helpful to know. If you could:
- install the test plugin before upgrading
- save the report
- upgrade
- email both reports
..that would be brilliant.
Thanks
Thanks for the plugin lists. We’re still trying to determine what is causing this issue. For those affected, could you please install and activate the Jetpack Compatibility Test Plugin and copy and paste the results into an email to support _AT_ WordPress.com. You can find the report link in the Plugins section of your dashboard.
Please reference this thread in the email so we’re able cross-reference as much information as possible.
Thanks again.
Hi, all. We’re still trying to get to the bottom of this issue.
The most likely culprit is some sort of incompatibility with other plugin(s). Can any who have had issues with 1.9.1+ please let us know which (if any) other plugins are active on your site? We will keep trying to replicate this issue.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMATHi, Gary.
This message means that the Jetpack software could not be extracted from the zip archive. Can you please check that your web server has available space on the volume where WordPress is installed and that you’re not running into quota issues (if applicable)?
Thanks,
JeffFor those still having trouble, are you visiting your /wp-admin over SSL (https address)?
Can you please respond with any messages you have in your Javascript Console? Thanks
You’re welcome. Please let us know if upgrading to 1.9.1 doesn’t fix things on your site.
Hi all:
We’ve just released Jetpack 1.9.1 to address this issue. SurveillanceTips (and others affected), when you get a chance, can you please upgrade, reactivate the Notifications Module, & report back any successes / further issues?
Thanks very much for your reports 🙂
