mandsconsulting – I tried what you suggested and it didn’t work. I even created a brand new post and typed in the shortcode manually, but still no go.
Just so I understand you were talking about the actual post that the shortcode was located on right, not the contact form 7 code or anything else?

Yes it’s definitely there. And I figured it was an issue with ajax. I think I’ve narrowed it down to the theme itself, but just can’t find it.
I actually had a similar problem, however I’ve installed this plugin on numerous sites and it has worked fine.
This time I set the backupschedule to weekly (compressed) and it created 26 zips within 3 days. All at random times, and random number per day.
Maybe it’s a bug where when the backup fails it tries again and it kept trying until it finally succeeded?
For reference it’s WP v. 3.0.4 and the plugin version is 1.4.2
