Your insights helped. There was a plugin from my theme maker named Meks Flexible Shortcodes was causing the issue. Have deleted the plugin. All well now. Thank you so much @bcrodua and David for your guidance!

Well , I forgot to mention that Scheduled backup is getting completed and the restoration page doesn’t come in shadow screen, it comes in clear screen upon first click.
