I updated to 4.4.1 and still have the issue… 🙁

I had the same problem and was able to fix it in most of the cases.
What I had to do and what seemed to change in this new version is that I had to tell the file that it is a media file. (link to media file) The place to select it is on the right side of the library at the bottom. It was by default to none.
