It seems to be running much faster for me today without even upgrading to 3.3.1. Perhaps simply disabling WP Touch and re-enabling did it? Or perhaps there was a tracking gif server that was timing out?
WordPress: 3.9.1
WPTouch: 3.3I am upgrading to 3.3.1 now…
Just upgraded to 3.3.1 and that works as well.
Thanks.
Did two confirmation posts about the problem get deleted, mine included?
I am having this same issue. I am guessing some tracking image is hanging, causing WP Admin pages to load up to 10 seconds.

So if I disable “WordPress Automatic Upgrade” in Plugins (by Keith Dsouza), I can still automatically upgrade my WordPress as it is now built into core?

In reply to: Safe? wp-wpau.js.php Appears to be publicIsn’t wp-wpau WordPress’ built-in automatic updater?
I see this problem as well:
WPtouch: 1.9.42
MediaElement.js – HTML5 Audio and Video: 2.9.1
WordPress: 3.4.2
When I inspect the element in Safari’s developer tools, it looks like the <audio> tag is converted to an <object> tag.
When the page first loads, I see the proper <audio> element load but then it disappears.
It used to correctly display in WPtouch.

I updated Akismet and WordPress on 12/15. So I was receiving large spam spikes prior to the upgrade. but the emails from akismet didn’t start pouring in until immediately after the update.

In reply to: 3.0.3 – Sending Comment/Spam Emails, Nothing In QueueOK, I’m going to submit a bug.
It’s out of control. I think I need to disable comments because the amount of spam emails coming through is unmanageable.

In reply to: 3.0.3 – Sending Comment/Spam Emails, Nothing In QueueHere is an example from one of the Spam comments I received. It’s similar to Chengas’:
10 hours ago – Akismet caught this comment as spam during an automatic retry.
11 hours ago – Akismet was unable to check this comment (response: ), will automatically retry again later. And I agree with Chengas: I doubt my hosting provider will be responsive over a vague inquiry such as WordPress spam server checks.
Is this a possible flaw in the new Akismet filter? Why would our servers, for example, have trouble processing a request like this from WordPress?
