Thank you for the pointer. I fixed the problem. It appears I broke my app by changing settings related to the home page in Dashboard>Homepage and options, and Dashboard>Options.
I have learned that behavior for logged-in users varies slightly in web vs app. Website (with the right plugin) can redirect a logged-in user who opens a new browser window to a specific page–news in my case, whereas the mobile app returns the logged-in user to his previous page.

Is there a way I can discover all css classes used in the app version of my site? I’m able to get those for WPMobile.app widgets by adding shortcodes to a webpage that I debug. I see also the WPMobile.app stylesheet, but I don’t always know how the its classes are used.
I’m afraid I’m missing something obvious.
