I’ve had the same issue with custom post types. As far as I can tell, this plugin only works with posts. The fix that works for me is here – http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/plugin-category-posts-widget-add-support-for-selecting-custom-post-types.
I’d love to figure out a way to actually get this, or something similar, into the plugin. I’d prefer not to kill my upgrade path and custom post types are so prevalent these days that I don’t see a reason not support them. Any help in getting the author’s attention on this would be appreciated. I don’t spend a lot of time contributing code to plugins so I don’t really know how to get this included.
Anybody have thoughts on this? I think people are working with custom post types so often that it just doesn’t make sense to restrict this functionality to posts.
Anybody agree or disagree? Have I posted in the wrong spot? I’m not sure what the usual avenue would be for getting in touch with the author about potentially including these changes.

In reply to: [Form Manager] [Plugin: WordPress Form Manager] Server Error on activationThe issue was being caused by a different plugin. The Events Manager plugin was somehow causing errors when we attempted to install any other plugin. Uninstalling the Events Manager fixed the issue.
