In reply to: [Plugin: Frontpage-Slideshow] Transition Effect in IEThanks for your attention on this, jeff_. I’ve found that just replacing the text overlay opacity style for ‘fs-text’ with a transparent PNG background and removing the IE ‘fs-text’ exception makes it display the same in the different browsers and makes it work the way I was hoping.

In reply to: [Plugin: Frontpage-Slideshow] Transition Effect in IE…of course, now that I’m looking at how the other slider is working, it looks like it’s actually using a transparent PNG background image for the text overlay and not CSS.

In reply to: [Plugin: Frontpage-Slideshow] Transition Effect in IEI’m using the real thing.
If you’re at all interested, below is a link to a similar slider that I was going to install before I ran across your plugin. This one seems to display the same on later browsers:

Of course, your plugin was more appealing…it would make things a lot easier because I’m hardly a coding expert.

In reply to: [Plugin: Frontpage-Slideshow] Transition Effect in IEI had a brain cramp in my previous post…I meant “the former”, not “the latter.” You don’t see the image extend beyond the frame using the ‘jump up’ effect in compatibility view, but the opacity does remain at 100%.

In reply to: [Plugin: Frontpage-Slideshow] Transition Effect in IEThanks for the response.
I was originally using IE 8 mode with the ‘drop out’ effect…I’ve just tried it in compatibility mode and that opened up another can of worms. Now the overlay remains 100% opacity at all times and you can see the image extending beyond the slideshow frame during transition. The latter isn’t happening with the ‘jump up’ effect, though the opacity issue remains.
Great plugin overall…I just don’t want to have something on my site doing weird things in IE since it’s still so widely used.

In reply to: Tabbed Widgets picky with 2.8?Love this widget, but having it not work after upgrading to 2.8 made me discover it was adding 3 to 4 seconds of load time.

In reply to: [Plugin: Featured Content Gallery] Read Other Posts First…Thanks, iePlexus…I may take a look at those. I’d prefer to just use the plugin rather than try to incorporate a similar script into the theme.
