I have tested Neve 3.3 with the VoiceOver screen readeron Safari and the issue has indeed been resolved! Thanks.Twenty Twenty-One and Twenty Twenty-Two automatically expand nested navigation items on mobile.
Twenty Nineteen automatically expands nested navigation items on VoiceOver focus.
Twenty Twenty has separate focus for the dropdown items, this is how it should ideally work in Neve.
I’m fairly confident to say that the accessibility markup of Neve can be improved in this case, considering it works nicely in Twenty Twenty. Maybe take a look at the HTML structure and ARIA attributes in that theme.
Hello @luciamarinescu , thanks for the follow-up. I have checked our website and the focus movement to the navigation menu does seem to work now.
However, with VoiceOver enabled, I am unable to select the dropdown indicator in the menu. This means users of screen readers are unable to select menu items which are nested. With an external keyboard, this does work, and they even expand automatically.
