In Incognito Mode still has problems.
Site one: WP 5.2.3, PHP 7.0.33
As the page loads for editing the TSF box appears at the top, then goes to the bottom. If I scroll up and down, it seems to stay where it belongs. If I move the cursor onto the block, it pops back over the block of the post. Motion alone is enough, I don’t have to click. Ctrl-reload does the same.Site two: WP 5.2.3, PHP 7.1.14
Pretty much the same behavior.Google does support the PortableApps version of Chrome. It is “installed” with a download from them.
Please clarify your link’s instructions about reinstalling the plugin, as per my question above.
Thanks
I have tried the steps that are accessible to me in Chrome. The forced reload, either by itself or after clearing cache seems to work initially. But scrolling down on the page, or possibly any interaction with the page causes the SEO block to come back up to the middle of the page/post content.
Firefox on Win7 and Linux Mint are OK. Opera on Win7 is ok.Your instructions suggest reinstalling the plugin as a last resort. At first, I read that as the cache plugin, but I now think you mean your SEO plugin. Please confirm. Also, by reinstalling do you mean deactivate AND remove, or only deactivate? If the former, won’t that lose all the metadata created with the plugin?
Thanks!
Would a screenshot be useful?
Fast response! Thanks!
It occurred to me that it might be a browser issue, so I tried the backend in Firefox and Opera and it displays correctly. I came back here to report that and saw your response. It seem that you are on the money regarding Chrome, which is what I am using. I updated it last night through Portableapps.com, since I am using the Chrome Portable version.
I will check your linked solutions.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP2Static] Static output completely different from sourceI had an email exchange with the developer. Disabling some plugins, some dynamic content, and a link to WP login (all at once) resolved the problem.
I then restored most of what I had deleted and the problem did not come back, so I’m confused, but happy.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [OceanWP] No Sidebar on Home PageThat did it.
I just hadn’t scrolled down that far. I did not realize that there was all that extra stuff at the bottom.
Thanks.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [OceanWP] No Sidebar on Home PageIt was already installed and active.
I tried deactivating and activating it again. No change. I checked the theme panel and sub-menus, everything is enabled.
On the plug in ww.wp.xz.cn page, the screen shots show elementor installed. I do not currently have it installed. Is that a contributory factor? When you say: “Edit the home page > oceanwp settings metabox > main tab and select sidebar layout.” are you referring to the customizer or the Dashboard>pages menu? I’ve tried both and do not see what you are describing.

In reply to: [OceanWP] No Sidebar on Home PageI am not sure where you are pointing me.
In Dashboard>pages>edit page, there is nothing that refers to oceanwp. There is a drop down box for Template. It’s only choices are default template and landing page. I am using default template.
In Dashboard>pages>quick edit, the same is true.
In Customizer>Home Page Settings, the only things available are a radio button choice for whether the home page is latest posts or static, a drop down to select the name of the home page, and a drop down to select the name of the posts page. In addition there are two links for New Page under each of the last two items.
I do not see anything resembling what you are suggesting.
In Customizer>General Options>General Settings, which does not seem to be where you are pointing me, under Pages there is a graphic selection for the sidebar type and layout. I have right sidebar selected there and under Custom Sidebar as well.
Please clarify your instructions. Do I have a corrupted copy of OceanWP that is missing some features? I am using the free version.

In reply to: [OceanWP] No Sidebar on Home PageHi Amit,
No, the problem is that I can’t get the sidebar onto the home page. I’ve looked throughout the customizer and in the page definitions. In the Customizer, I only see the selection for sidebars in the Customizing >General Options >General Settings and that does not seem to affect the home page. There are no applicable choices in Customizing > Homepage Settings. However, I am using a static home page. I just tested using “your latest posts” as the home page and that does display the sidebar. Reverting to a static home page loses the sidebar again.
In the Edit Page screen, the side panel only has Default Template and Landing Page options. I’ve used the Default Template. This is true for the Quick Edit of the page as well. These are the same options that are available for other pages, where I have also selected the Default Template.

In reply to: [OceanWP] Background to make Category Description ReadablePerfect! Thanks.
I need to find out why ww.wp.xz.cn does not notify me of activity on my threads!

In reply to: [WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging] Automatic key not validApologies for your not hearing from me.
I have not been getting notifications from ww.wp.xz.cn of postings to topics I have created, despite having notification checked. I just happened to check here because I just watched a video about the plugin and it reminded me that I had posted this issue.I will use your contact us page.
@brainstormteam
I was never notified of your reply, so did not see it until now. My apologies for appearing to ignore you, and my appreciation for a pretty fast response!I got a notification of your reply to gabriela010491, which was strange, and the reason I came back to the thread.
I will test the plugin on the same site. It’s a developed site, so no longer needs the starter site plugin, but I will do it as a courtesy to you and in appreciation of what I now know was a fast response.
I see that the bug you identified in github is for the unescaped character. Will this also address the frozen check box and issues of editing the meta text?

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Time Bug?I discovered that there was a time zone field available next to the time setting for the event. It was set for UTC-4, rather than New York. I changed it and the displayed times are now correct.
I now realize that is what you were referring to. I did not realize it before.
I’m not sure how it got to be UTC-4.
I am marking this as resolved.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Time Bug?Your response doesn’t make complete sense to me.
The event is local. At the moment we are UTC-4. Sunday we will be UTC-5. The time zone is a global setting. I see that I can set Events Calendar to have manual time zone settings for each event. That’s not particularly practical or appropriate. We display multiple events per day to inform our members of repeating events. The way I read what is happening: I enter an event that is happening in the future (normal action), I enter the time it will happen for the day on which it will happen (normal action), your software notices that we change from DST to ST between when I enter the event and its occurence, the software subtracts an hour from the time I set – making it incorrect. The software is over compensating.
I think you need to have the time that is set for the event be the time of the event. I don’t think most of your users are dealing with astronomical events whose times will not be local!
