I gave up trying to solve this. I installed the Mambo Button and it works perfectly.
Followup – found instructions for manual update by searching this forum and did so. Worked perfectly .. thank you!
Thank you … after downloading the zip file how do I do a manual update? I don’t see instructions on the plugin page.

Yes I deactivated the plugins and defaulted back to the default theme and the issue is the same!
