I didn’t consider it a bug… It was quite a nice feature to have initial.surname users in a way similar to our school email addresses… made everything easier to remember…

It is a school blog, so registration is closed and controlled by me. I create users for teachers and children and that is all. Would this be sufficient for that purpose and not break anything? Was this change introduced in 3.2?
