I hope that WordPress resolves this issue quickly so that I no longer need the fix. Thanks again for helping me out.

Thanks for your message. Sotty, I didn’t find the issue by googling around….
I understand now that this issue is labeled as a non-urgent bug… it might thus take some time before it gets fixed…
Until now, I never touuched the PHP code, as I’m using a “managed WordPress hosting” solution whereby the access to the “lower” WordPress levels is blocked. I’ve only access via the web interface. I’m not sure yet which way to go: either change my hosting solution and implement the PHP fix or wait for the bug to be fixed and accepting the risks of remaining on an older WordPress level.
