I have temporarily deactivated the other plugins and changed to “Custom”. This did not work.
The genealogy site has now changed to PRO option, and this has resolved its issues.
1) changed back to 40 images and 4 columns
2) The image titles disappeared as NextGEN changed the Select View to “default-view.php”, now back “caption-view.php” and resolveCannot change “What’s the default sorting method? ” in Other Options to “Custom” as NEXTGEN Gallery on Dashboard disappear with error message “no access” on gallery page
One remaing issue …
The galleries can be sorted and saved. Its the albums which I cannot sort and save, the albums revert to ID order (this applies to my site and the genealogy site)Please advise on Album sort issue.

Strange problem happened overnight. The genealogy site Wiltshire OPC/ Richard C…, has now taken out the PLUS option.
On this site and my own (which is BASIC option) changes happened to the images in the galleries.
1) the NextGEN/Gallery Settings/Images per page and Number of columns have changed; from 40 images per page to 24 and number of columns has changed from 4 columns to 0 (zero) columns
2) the images titles have disappeared from the page but when enlarging an image the title is shownI was on the “What’s the default sorting method?” setting “Alt/Title Text” (the setting came with the software upload)
I changed to “Custom” and saved. Changed the album sequence, saved, and the list of albums reverted back to ID order.I am at a loss, do I need to do something with “Custom” to make it work?
When I click the update Album button on the Manage Album page, the albums revert to ID order
