Might be worth mentioning that if you need the extra plugin if you set up a new domain.
I set up a new site on the 23rd and got the problem straightway. Was confused until I read this.Building for Scale: Updates to Google Maps APIs Standard Plan
We no longer support keyless access (any request that doesn’t include an API key). Future product updates are only available for requests made with an API key.
The extra plugin fixed the problem straightaway (5 minute delay on setting up an api key).

My blog does not sit at the top level of the domain, is this a problem?
Testing with quill it would not take the blog url but wanted the domain?
