I appreciate that, but let’s be realistic here, Michelle, once and for all.
You have 902 one-star reviews all stating the same thing. Yet you ask for my “feedback” on the issue and communicate as if this was a shocking surprise to you.
We both very well know there is nothing any of us could say or do, that would make a difference here.
This is not an issue with bugs, product quality, or anything that needs user feedback to be “fixed”. It would take probably 10 minutes of engineering work to hide the aggressive ads in the plugin.
No.
I don’t mean to strike a hostile tone, but almost for the thousandth time: the issue at hand is a deliberate, intentional, aggressive monetization decision, with the single goal of driving profit, at the expense of user experience, hijacked from a previously well established plugin.
You have 902 one-star reviews stating this to you, some more blunt than the others, but still stating the same thing. I’m sincerely confused as to what more feedback you could possibly need.
I understand you are seeking a profit. Aren’t we all. But there are numerous better ways to do that than hijacking a previously simple, loved, and useful plugin, to then milk it dry.
That’s all.

In reply to: [wpForo Forum] Useful, but very bloatedThis indeed came through as a bit harsh, and reading it back one day later, it indeed looks way more negative than what I actually had in mind. Allow me to add a correction here.
To recap my opinion, again, this is a great plugin. I mentioned this in the initial edits. It’s just initially way too bloated for someone (me) who is used to a clean-to-the-bone sleek UX.
I understand there are others with additional requirements than a simple discussion board, but I was especially doing a mention about the “simplified mode”, which was the selling point for me, and which claims to be “modern and clean”: yet it is not, at least not off the shelf, and not for my taste.
Regardless, thank you for this plugin and your reply.
