In reply to: 1024×768 blog or 800×600…i have a designer who will be doing some work and i am trying to get him to understand that if he does it 1024×768 it also needs to be fluid at 800×600 so that there is no scrolling showing.
is there a reference site or link i can point him to to understand this better?
thanks!

In reply to: Deleting large number of posts at the same timehere’s some advise from a previous posting of mine. don’t forget, the search box is very helpful for questions like this:
well, a search found what I am looking for an indeed, teaches us all the important lesson – search before you post!
Anyway, the answer to my question is really easy, as Nuclear Moose explained last year:
go into wp-admin/edit-comments.php and at around line 68 or so, you’ll find this:
$comments = $wpdb->get_results(“SELECT * FROM $tablecomments ORDER BY comment_date DESC LIMIT 20”);
Change the ’20’ to whatever number you like.Well, I changed mine to 200 and it works great.

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: I have no idea….As nuclear moose suggest, get yourself a hosting account with CPanel and make sure they provide Fantastico as part of the hosting package.
Through Fantastico you can install WordPress very easily without any hassles.

In reply to: The Skinny on Sports – Podcasting with WordPressCool.
thanks for that.
Yes, I’m using Windows XP Service Pack 2.
I might drop Alex an email to see what he thinks may be the issue.
One other question…
When it comes to recording your audio, what do you use?
For recording and editing of audio, I have used Audacity – http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
It is similar to Cool Edit Pro and is free.

In reply to: My WP site is a site of the day in UK newspapercheers! Yes, using the 3dots template is ideally suited to sites that want to offer content across a number of sections.
of course, everything seems to work better in Firefox these days rather than IE.
One annoyance on IE is that is you visit any 3dots site, highlight some text eg: you want to cut and paste some text, it will then not only highlight that text but also other text above it as well.
On Firefox this doesn’t happen and really trying to find out why IE does this.
If anyone knows a solution to this minor problem, then feel free to pitch in!
cheers

In reply to: The Skinny on Sports – Podcasting with WordPressHi there
Very nice! Good use of the 3dots template and the way you have cutomised it. How did you manage to remove the graphic that usually stays on the top left hand side?
Also, just wondering if you highlight some text, rather than highlighting just the text you want, it seems to highlight everything around it. This happens in IE but not Firefox and wonder if you noticed this as well.
cheers
