I would have thought that too but when I remove the shipping class from the shipping method the product (the only one in that shipping class) is still available for delivery under the regular delivery price and you could still choose to deliver to an international address. Am I missing something?

I tried all of the steps you mentioned and unfortunately they had no effect, which is very strange. When I change the permalink structure to http://domain.com/?p=123 all works fine. As an alternative I have been using a permalink structure of /product/%postname%/ and this seems to be working fine although it would be nice to figure out what the problem was. It seems to be related to the mod-rewrite module? Would it be useful if I posted the contents of my .htaccess file?
