Hey Thomas!
Can you help me make sure I understand correctly? The cart (step 1) and checkout step page (step 2) are tracked without having a checkout step event firing? This is done by pageview?
I now understand why shipping (step 3) and payment (step 4) fire on the button, as they are on the checkout page together.
Thank you!
Additional information.
The following shows in the data layer while on the /cart/ and /checkout/ page when on them. I see the steps but no event fires.
Pageviews – Datalayer
Cart Page – Datalayer
Checkout Page Page – DatalayerSame here. Initial thought is an oversight in the guide.
The issue is not resolved. I am still working with Facebook.
Update – I have also submitted a ticket with Facebook. If you see anything from my previous update as a red flag, then let me know.
See here for one of those listed product/content IDs in the Facebook catalog:
Group ID Level: https://i.imgur.com/SukAEBc.png
Varient ID level: https://i.imgur.com/kcEjIg4.pngSee anything odd there?
The one difference I see in your blog post screenshots and my screenshot on Facebook pixel is mine says content type: product_group while yours says content type: product . Do you think it is trying to match product_group_id with the product_id?
