I was able to downgrade to 3.4.2 very easily without issue, fixed the image uploading error http://ww.wp.xz.cn/wordpress-3.4.2.zip
I’m also getting this error, but only on custom post types created with Magic Fields 2. I can upload directly to the media library without issue.
So it sounds like it very well may be related to Magic Fields 2

How do I turn off the opacity setting completely?
