Found the mistake! I had no message body [your-message] entered in the set up.
Now it works fine. No conflict with PHP 5.4. I’ll tell my provider that their reply was bogus. Thanks.

Thanks. I saw these instructions already. That’s why I contacted my provider and got the information about the plugin not being compatible with PHP 5.4.
Does it work for others with PHP 5.4???
My hosting provider (Bluehost) told me today:
Contact Form 7 is one of the WordPress plugins that are incompatible with the new PHP version 5.4.
Is that correct? Is there a fix for that?
I have Contact Form 7 (Version 3.6) installed and keep getting the error msg: “Failed to send message.” (red border)
(FYI: WordPress 3.8.1)
