I was able to accomplish what I was looking for by leveraging the “Better Search Replace” plugin.
Understood, the migration of page data to a serialized array makes working with the data essentially impossible in this format. I appreciate your time and assistance!
I’ve spoken to the creator of the Plug-in named above. This was his description of the issue:
“I checked the issue and it turns out Beaver Builder saves the content as post meta in a serialized format.
The first time you edit a page with Beaver Builder, it reads the normal post content.
But when you edit a page with Beaver Builder, it saves the changes as post meta.”Is there any way to get Beaver Builder to check for/adopt changes made to the normal post content?
I see, so no compatibility between the two. That is unfortunate! I’ve opened an issue with Beaver Builder to see if there is anything that can be done on their side. Thanks for looking into this!
That would be awesome, Thanks for the help Jose!
Hey Jose!
Just for clarification, I wasn’t able to fix the issue. Having Beaver Builder disabled isn’t an option as the entire site is built with it. If removed, the entire site just turns into a giant mess of pictures and text with no structure π
Do you have any ideas for a possible workaround until you you’re able to implement a more proper fix in a future release?
Thanks!
Further Testing:
It appears that it is some kind of conflict with the Beaver Builder Plugin (Lite Version). When I disable the plug-in, all the edits show through. This is interesting, however, considering I did see it successfully show through the edits on some pages with the plugin running.
After some additional testing, I’ve determined that it seems to be related to the Left/Right Save buttons presented at the bottom in the Edit screen. I attempted to make some edits on 3 different pages that weren’t part of the first batch. The first page worked fine by using only the left/right change to save (I may have actually pushed the green save button before navigating away at some point, I can’t be positive either way). The Second page in the “Chain” however showed no change when I used the left/right button to save and after “navigating” to the third page, I used the green “Save” button at the bottom to lock in the changes instead of simply Left/Right to save. That worked as well. Unfortunately, now page 2 seems “stuck”. Any edits I try and make to this point through the edit screen, don’t take effect on the page. No matter how I save them. I observed this as well with the original batch of pages.
That’s a bummer about that CSS!
I’m looking over the links now. If it’s possible, it sounds like I can get it done with something like that.
Thanks again!
