I do have a choice for the file manager directory, so maybe I am selecting the wrong thing there?

I have not tried to add plugins, so I’m not sure on that one. My role in the WP dashboard is Administrator.Thanks to all for your help so far!! 🙂

In reply to: Themes uploaded to cpanel not available to select in wp-adminYes, that’s where I have been going in cpanel to upload and unzip them. I would prefer to use the WP admin route because it seems much more straightforward (and I am definitely a WP novice), but have been using the cpanel option because my WP admin appearance > themes page doesn’t have a button or option to upload themes there. (I’m trying to attach a screen shot of my page to this post but can’t figure out how to do that either, lol. :P)
I can get the themes to upload to the cpanel file manager, and I can see the two other active themes sitting in the same directory, but they don’t show on my WP admin page. All the support articles I’ve read kindof make it seem like that step should automagically happen – that once they are uploaded to the cpanel file manager they just show up on your admin page, but they aren’t doing that for me.
