In reply to: [Smart Slider 3] 3.5.1.34 on WP 6.9.4 Breaks SiteHi,
just to share a workaround that solved it for me, in case it helps others:
My update from 3.5.1.32 to 3.5.1.34 was breaking the backend with the same index/database errors. Rollback restored the site.
What finally worked was this:
- I rolled back to Smart Slider 3.5.1.32 so the site was stable again.
- I checked the DB side:
- DB user permissions were fine
- MariaDB query cache was
OFF
- I then checked WordPress caching and found two active cache drop-ins in
wp-content:object-cache.php(APCu Manager)advanced-cache.php(Cache Enabler)
- I flushed the WP cache.
- Then I temporarily renamed both files:
wp-content/object-cache.php→object-cache.php.OFFwp-content/advanced-cache.php→advanced-cache.php.OFF
- After that, I updated Smart Slider again to 3.5.1.34 via WP-CLI, and this time the update completed successfully.
- After the successful update, both cache files were recreated automatically, and Smart Slider + backend + frontend all worked normally again.
So in my case, the practical workaround was:
- stabilize via rollback
- flush cache
- temporarily disable the cache drop-ins
- run the Smart Slider update again
Maybe this helps confirm that at least in some environments, WordPress-side caching can interfere with the update process.
Thanks for your help Gabor and thanks for starting this thread, bindevid.

In reply to: [Smart Slider 3] 3.5.1.34 on WP 6.9.4 Breaks SiteHi,
I gathered more evidence, and this does not look like a simple missing ALTER/DROP permission issue.
Environment:
- MariaDB 10.11.6-MariaDB-log
- WordPress backend breaks when updating Smart Slider from 3.5.1.32 to 3.5.1.34
- After rollback, the site works again
Database grants:
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON <database>.* TO <db_user>@...
So the DB user does have full privileges on the database.
Also, I was able to execute the problematicALTER TABLE ... DROP INDEX ...statements manually.Current table/index state for
<myprefix>_nextend2_section_storage:applicationindex existsapplication_2index also existseditableexistsisSystemexists
This suggests that the upgrade leaves
<myprefix>_nextend2_section_storagein an inconsistent migration state, rather than failing because of missing ALTER/DROP permissions.Could you please provide one of these:
- the exact expected index structure for
<myprefix>_nextend2_section_storagein 3.5.1.34, or - a safe repair SQL for this table, or
- a patched build that handles partially migrated index states correctly?
From my side, this currently looks like an upgrade/migration issue, not a database privilege issue.
Thanks.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Issue with wp-db.phpThanks a lot for your very valuable answer. I appreciate it!
Have you tried purging DB cache once updated MySQL?
Yes, I did.
using both Object and DB cache is not recommended especially on a shared server.
Alright. Yes, I used both simoultaneously. Now, I deactivated database cache.
But is some cases, depending on the theme or plugins those quotes when removed may cause an issue and we are aware of that.
That means that there’s going to be a fix in a future update?
Thanks again!
Hi,
I have the same issue. I upgraded my MySQL from 5.5 to 5.7 and now all my snippets are gone and exactly the same happens to me as described hatakazu aboveby.
Thanks in advance.Thanks, Vladimir.
I know the console etc., but it’s still like reading a language I don’t know for me.
At least I found out what plugin causes the issue, but I absolutely have no idea how and where to fix this. So I guess I have to kick out the [su_animate] effect. :/Hi Vladimir,
thanks for your answer and sorry for the very late reply.
Phew, you’re talking to an amateur. I can imagine that question being annoying, but… can you give me a hint on what to fix?
Thanks again.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [SlimStat Analytics] Fatal Error after most recent updateHi there,
sorry to also write here, but it might be related (even though I don’t use the theme mentioned above).Warning: implode(): Invalid arguments passed in /xxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/wp-slimstat/wp-slimstat.php on line 1332
Since today’s update, I get this message and all my Vimeo video don’t show up anymore (there’s a Vimeo error message instead).
Thanks in advance!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Problem with new updateThere’s no error log file. It’s only access.log, dav.log & sftp.log.
Do you maybe rather want a temporary admin access to my site to check it yourself?
