I see that they have a functionality to do translation of plugins:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/theme-translation-for-polylang/but it requires some coding work from the owners of the plugin.
Do you think I could ask for this to be under consideration from your team?

Well, is a pitty, but I can’t complain for a free plugin 🙂
I will check with them and maybe I can find an easy way to make your fields translatable using polylang.

NikolasI forgot to mention, under capabilities, I have the two options enabled (edit_theme_options, switch_themes) but no other.

In fact, I modify the editor’s role and in the Backend Menu option, under the appearance (switch_themes) I have enabled only the option Menus (Cap: edit_theme_options) and have restricted the Background one.
I am not sure there is another option somewhere.What I get, is the full menu of Appearance (Themes, Customise, Menu, Background) for the editor.
Is there some other option I might have changed and affects the menu?I can’t post images here I suppose,but if you wish, I can send you some screenshots.

nikolasWhat worked for me is to
a) change the theme of the website
b) disable and re-enable the plugin
c) then switch back to the theme you were using.It worked, but only if you switch the theme first (at least with minimalist-portfolio), if not, you’ll end up with an error screen and then you’ll have to enable the plugin from the Database.
it surely is some kind of cache issue somewhere related with the plugins
