Lucky me; turns out someone had hacked my site. Updated to latest WP, removed hacks & changed themes. Prior to that the blog looked okay but it was generating LOTS of spam for any bot that visited, and manged to lock up my WP too. Seems okay now. Thanks for the input 🙂
I turns out I can’t even change WP’s “Customize Permalink Structure” back to the default! 🙁
Does anyone have any clue as to what’s happening here? Network Solutions is no help at all, since it’s not their software and they’re just my ISP.
I tried creating a post with the title “Test” and contents “test post”. It wouldn’t even save that simple post.
Thanks; I turned the plug-ins off (only using two) but it didn’t help.
One thing I have noticed is that the very last post didn’t show an author; that’s strange. So I deleted that post, but when I tried to add a replacement post I couldn’t do it. So I’m still stuck.
It’s a very old version, 2.1.3(?), but has been working fine until recently.
