I second the motion. Please implement this feature ASAP!!!
@pressimize @arrasel403 – I suggested this same feature a few weeks back. But there’s a way to do it which would be even more powerful.
There was a plugin some years ago (can’t recall the name) where you could simply create variants on the fly and the plugin would catch it and track it automatically. You didn’t need to go in and manually make the new link.
For instance, if your base link was: mysite.com/go/link…
You could simply create mysite.com/go/link01 on the fly and the plugin would track it.
If you needed another link later (e.g.: mysite.com/go/link02) you could simply create it as needed and it would work.
Need another link? Just use: mysite.com/go/link03!
And so on.
This was so brilliant, so easy to use and so powerful, I can believe it hasn’t been implemented by anybody else in all the years since.
I won’t say the ability to make multiple link variants is a critically needed feature in general, but if you’re a serious affiliate marketer or a maniac for tracking (which you should be anyway), it would be a major time saver and make BetterLinks 1000x more valuable!
Sounds intriguing. Will drop you a line, Kuba, at UnderDEV, if that’s OK.
Nice looking site, BTW. 🙂
Ah. Damn. After I had gotten my hopes up. 🙁
Hi, Kuba!
You might want to make what you just told me clear to those who find the plugin, like I did. To me, “Notification” is just that — something the pops up on the front end. If it said “Email Notification,” it would be immediately clearer, but I realize that’s not a very sexy title. 😉
Anyway, I would be very interested in any solution that I can use with multiple posts. In other words, I would need to have a different message for each post I use it on.
As I said, I’d pay to have this created. Obviously, I was just hoping to find a plugin that could do it.
I’m really rather surprised that there is simply no “easy” way to do what I need out there anywhere. I’ve sent many hours looking for something — anything — that would do it. Your plugin was the closest thing I’ve found that *looked* like it might fill the bill.
With all the millions of WP sites out there, you’d think (well, I would think) that many others have a similar need.
So if you think this is something you could do, would it be a script or plugin or what? Further, ballpark, what would it cost?
Thanks,
KarlP.S.: I think there is definitely a hot potential buyer base for this idea of mine among internet marketers, if not a much broader audience. I’m a professional marketer and I know the IM field well. Perhaps we could come up with a *simple* plugin. I have a feeling it would sell like hotcakes…
Good to know. That was one of my questions. Thanks for the useful post. 🙂

In reply to: [Publish To Apple News] Blank Admin PageThanks for the feedback, Bradford.
I’m actually putting the cart before the horse here, ’cause I’m not yet approved by Apple to publish. D’oh!
I got so excited, I forgot about that little step.
When/if I get approved, I’ll follow up on this.
I’m glad that helped, and we, the loyal user base, would LOVE to see the “automatic Blacklist” feature implemented. IMHO, that one feature alone would take AIOWPS from not just “merely great” to truly epic!
🙂
Thanks for listening and (please… we need you) keep up the outstanding work.
wpsolutions: what FGD means is that the Blacklist Manager does not automatically kick in and stop attacking IPs. You have to go in manually and cut-and-paste IPs to it one at a time. This IS impossible when you’re in charge of many sites and/or if you’re getting hit with a lot of spammers. It’s just not gonna happen.
The better part of a year ago, I suggested that a HUGE improvement to this plugin would be adding spammer IPs to the Blacklist automatically. You could set automatic criteria (# of attempted hacks, etc.) and then it would be set and forget. Which, IMHO, is how it should work.
Your plugin has many wonderful features. But making us manually add offending IPs when it could be done automatically means that as admins, we basically have to become doormen. It sorta defeats the whole purpose of automation, insofar as blocking spammers goes.

In reply to: Comments Closed… Most Old Comments Not Visible?Hey James!
OK. Good. I’m not crazy. I thought all the comments should be visible, but I wasn’t sure if maybe something had changed.
I suspect this is a theme issue, but I’ll get to the bottom of it somehow.
Thanks so much for the prompt, helpful feedback.
Regards,
KarlI think that did it, guys!
No more hack attempts since I set the pingback protection.
I really, really appreciate the fast help and support. I was mystified. It’s great to know you guys are on the ball!
Rock on, and keep up the GREAT work!😀
mbrsolution & wpsolutions – thanks for the prompt feedback and advice!
It sounds like you have hit the nail on the head. I was allowing pingbacks and had no idea this could be causing the issue at hand. I’ve now implemented the pingback protection.
I am greatly relieved to know that there is no “leakage” happening here! And… I learned something new today about WP security I did not know. Even better.
If there are any further concerns, I will get back to you. If not, assume you have answered my question and solved the issue.
Thanks again. Much!!! 😀

In reply to: [All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall] Highly recommendedYep. Same here. This plugin gives you a multitude of ways to foil the bad guys. Love it! 🙂
Unfortunately, I can’t.
I removed Jetpack, since it has functionality that I need. The other plugins I was hoping to remove with the advent of the new and improved Jetpack are re-installed, and the site is back to where it was, plugin wise.
I may try Jetpack again later, when either a new version of the plugin comes out, or 4.+ of WP. Since it cost me several hours of hair pulling, I’m not going through that nightmare again any time soon.
I’ll keep you posted of what I discover when I finally try it again. Thanks for taking the time respond, Jeremy. I really appreciate it.
