To add to this – I just installed the Disable Gutenberg plug-in after reading some other reviews here. In Gutenberg it took me almost a whole day to create one page. Back in the Classic, Speedy editor, I just finished off 9 pages in about an hour.

That block editor thing – it’s just not going to work. I know that we can learn to do things different ways, but you’re fighting against decades of how we learned to write and do all of our work. And most of us are buzzing along at such a high rate of speed, that unless something is really helpful to us, we’re not going to adopt it.

Please give us back our good ol’ classic editor and let us get on with our work.

    Thanks!

@ogalinski – I don’t think we should have to trim down useful plugins just so WordPress can have it’s Gutenberg and eat us too. Like @x25fitness, I have added plugins that are important to the function of my site and for my readers and have tried to keep them minimal. Now I feel forced to add more so that I can just continue to function. It’s a bummer.

Thanks so much for writing back! AND I figured out the problem and a fix.

I had originally installed an AJAX Event calendar by Eran Miller, but it had some problems, so I found Spiffy Calendar and installed it. Then, once it was working and I had moved all the information from the old calendar, I decided to deactivate the unworkable calendar plug-in. For some reason, deactivating it and deleting it caused the problem. I figured that out by reinstalling it. And ta da! It worked again.

So, it’s not necessarily a conflict with another plug-in. I don’t know how these things work, but perhaps they share something similar.

I’m using Spiffy Calendar for an online grazing magazine. The first issue comes out March 21, so you can’t see the whole thing. But you can see the mini-calendar on the front page and click on a link to the larger version here: http://onpasture.com

Thanks again for the great plug-in!
