After much back and forth with my host, turns out the problem was a permissions issue with the main .htaccess file. They had to solve the issue on their end.I highly recommend to anyone experiencing this issue is to load firebug (or Chromes inspect element) when uploading the file. I found that it was throwing a 500 internal error that wasn’t being logged in cPanel – which led to deducing that it was a server problem and not a WordPress problem.
I hope this helps anyone else who runs into the same problem. 🙂

I figured it out. It’s not a perfect solution, but it works. 🙂
I went under “Options” and Deactivated Permalinks under “General”. I then went to “Gallery” and and made sure that “Deactivate gallery page link” was unchecked. The page links are not SEO friendly, but it’s a page full of images anyway.
Hope this helps someone.I too am having this problem. Anyone have any luck with a solution?
