It is a very useful plugin but unfortunately it stopped working with our website some time ago this year. We also have WP 4.9.8. It seems like there are other plugins that should do something similar ( https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/post-expiration-date/ ) but we haven’t tested anything yet.
