  • Yeah, saw emails later in the day from Steve Lambert about the problem with 1.73….teaches me never to jump on an upgrade so quickly. I’d never had a problem with wpfolio before. But sounds like he got an assist on this one. This was ugly. Glad it worked.

Yes, I understand. You have to access your site via your hosting service c-panel. For me, it’s bluehost, and then go to your file manager and ftp access. Does that make sense?

    Hi, same here. http://www.lauriefrick.com

I took deep breath, and then went to my host admin panel, to the unlimited ftp page. Found wpfolio (it’s not labeled 1.73…just wpfolio) under public-html–> themes, and deleted the file. That got my wordpress admin site back up, and I re-installed 1.72. All good. (then, since I knew how to fix it, I tried a second time. NOPE) Same steps to replace 1.72.

    1.73 has a problem.

Was using Google Chrome browser with WordPress 3.0 and WPFolio 1.5.2b, and the theme options wouldn’t update. Finally….tried Internet Explorer and all worked fine. Previous versions worked with Chrome, but it’s obviously not supported now.

    thanks

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for posting the ‘updating a theme’ question on the WP forum, I’ll keep an eye on it. Good tip on WPQuestions, will do that.

Meanwhile, the old gallery plugins won’t save any edits, thus the 3 column problem.

I did get the new sidebar and widgets to work, so there’s hope something is just ‘off’.

I tried uninstalling/deactivating all last night, and updating to WP 3, cause I had nothing to lose at that point. Nothing changed. I’ll post an update here when I get it working. Thanks again, it’s incredibly helpful to have someone to ask. — Laurie

    Hi Steve,
Yeah, I did the ‘no comments’ thing, something with the updated theme won’t save any updates. Same goes with the theme settings, and it won’t work with jquery lightbox for NG. In the old plug-in ‘gallery plus’, I could specify 3 columns, now it won’t recognize it.

I deinstalled all the plugins, deactivated WPFolio 1.5.2, activated the default, checked to see it would let me make changes in the header (yes), and reinstalled all. No-go.

Do you have a contact for someone I could pay a little $$ at Eyebeam maybe? I’m doing summer camp at ITP, and can’t spare more time on this, but need my site updated. Busily working on real-time brain-scan for an installation piece. Would love to meet some of the Eyebeam people.

    thanks!

Steve, thank you! I deselected, and reselected the updated theme and it activated that time. Got the sidebar to work. (thanks!)

Now, I trying to switch the number of columns from 4 back to 3. And when I make the body background FFFFFF in the Theme appearance it won’t update.

    Can’t thank you enough,
    Laurie
