Changing the theme fixed the problem! Good call.
The theme that is causing the problem is Talon version 1.06

Is there a simple CSS fix or should I look for another theme?

Yes, we are using File Away in an Intranet to access folders on a network drive. The trick is to use the DOS command MKLINK.
