Anybody, please? At least just a hint

I can’t do a new theme. I’d like to, but it would take me to much time to learn at this moment.

Regarding looking for the other theme, firstly I thought NO because I did quite an intensive search looking for what I wanted, but without success. Then I remembered another theme that I was researching before (Launch Effect, http://camperise.me ), so I tried to do something. Hence my delay in answer here. I developed it on http://camperise.net/flights/ and it seems ok, except that signup modul which I don’t need and which should be removed – once again, from html…

I like how structured your answers are. I will continue to google for answers. and use the Notepad++. I have it but didn’t know it can do multiple search.

Regarding the outlined goals, I believe if I get to solution for one goal, that would show me the way for others. Basicaly, it’s all about design and html editing.

Didn’t had the idea of plugin that you suggest with link. I need to give more attention to that link.

Yes, either changing the code, either the new menu. The old menu still has to be found in html and removed though…

Thank you mate! I hope I’ll find solutions in reasonable time.

    Thank you!

Yes, that is the slider. I managed to change its .css (images are now positioned from the bottom and there is no its logo shown – because I intervened in the code).

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37267969/without%20or%20with%20empty%20style.css%20file.png – this is how it looks like without style.css file or with that file containing only name, author and other data in beginning section, as it should be. I don’t know either, maybe it has something to do with slider, page builder and other active plugins, maybe my hosting is to blame (huge free, but known to be not recommendable). Bo! So I coppied entire style.css and went into it.

For example, I’d like to change the height of header image area (that transparent with logo), then the black bar with “Home” – to be thinner, and change link and shown text (i.e. Home), then to pull “Campervan / RV Rental” scripture area up. Maybe something more, but this is what occupies me now. From the Firebug I think it’s all the html and it should be in some of those numerous .php files, right?

    Thanks for your answer mjassen!

This is (part of) my site: http://camperise.net/campervans/. So, kind of Airbnb alike.

Not being familiar with coding, I copied entire style.css to new child theme folder and then changed the code in it (because when i did as suggested – make new empty style.css with only the data about me and child theme, the new theme didn’t show well; it was all messy).

Now I get quite easy to find and change colors etc. in Firebug (I installed it in the meantime), but I have difficulties find adequate code in style.css. And seems to me not all the code is in style.css.

Yes, I used the same tutorial for child theme, thanks. In the meantime I found http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/customizing-your-wordpress-theme-using-firebug/ – it looks quite easy, but as I said my theme is messy if I don’t have entire style.css code.

Besides, I’d like to change a bit a background slider plugin. I can find what in firebug (position the images on bottom, not on the top), but is it possible to save?

And yeah, when instaled, plugins need to be activated. If you don’t like it – deactivate it, and delete if you wish.

WordPress is meant to function with plugins.
And as far as I know you don’t need to create no .php documents. It’s all done automatically. You just open http://www.yoursite.xyz/wp-admin, log in, click Pages and Add new. And then you customize it. Look for some free video tutorials on youtube or udemy or so. Take free, no need to pay for this.
Back to plugins, just click Add new, and browse them using keywords. When you find something interesting, check details, how many people and how rated it and then install it.
    Hope it can help.

Hi, I’m novice, too so I can’t help a lot.
I think you should make a new page for every page oyou need (about, contacts…)
Regarding several sections, I think the good direction is to use page builder plugin.

In addition, is there some part of code that I should delete and in this way remove protection to edit the code directly from console?
