You know I just checked – the only enabled plugins I could turn off were the various jetpack modules. So I turned them all off then turned back on ONLY the essentials. Seems just a bit better now, but I’m not convinced that’s the problem. I will try to get hold of the child theme. Thanks for the idea!

In reply to: [Edin] Classic menu loads last, very slowI actually tried this theme out on a different server and it was problem-free, so I suspect it is the server, or possibly something in the child theme (because I have no control over the child theme – it is on a university multisite and I can’t control much of anything). There is even a limit to what plugins I can deactivate.
I’m so bummed…

In reply to: [Contact Form DB] Edit mode not working on pageOK, I sorta figured this out… it’s an https problem. The edits will hold if I change “http” to “https” in the address bar. I have had similar problems with other plugins. It’s my server. Not a good solution, but not your fault. You designed a wonderful useful plugin!!

In reply to: [Contact Form DB] Edit mode not working on pageJust to add to the above, when I try to edit a cell on a page, the cell shows as blank. But if I go in to edit the page, do nothing to it and go back to view the page, the original data is back in the cell (not my edited data). The only way to make the edit stick is to edit from the back end (admin page) which is not gonna work in my situation.

Just wanted to let you know that the plugin is working quite well now. Only issue is that it doesn’t work 100% without using https when logged in.

siriusly, I have an unrelated request. Can you tell me how you modified “display widget” to get let it allow you to select “Events” to show or hide a widget on? I’m desperate…
I do appreciate your help. I think the issue might actually be about https and I am on to my host about it.
By the way, can you tell me what browser you checked this with? I was good with using Firefox (logged out) but not Chrome or IE.
Looks like it works ok if I am not logged in to wordpress. Which is not good because this needs to be a page for people who are logged in.

One notification email showed up eventually – took about 15-20 minutes. But the notification to the requester did not show up.
The success message is still not working though.
